Tags

Prerequisites: You need to either be org admin OR user manager, course admin, tag manager, AND org tutor to perform all of the tag tasks described in this guide.

Tags link different elements of the platform together. They can be added in various locations and perform several key tasks:

  • Tag learning experiences so they can be filtered in the learning experience admin menu
  • Tag learning experiences so they can be linked to groups
  • Tag learning experiences, learners and objects to create complex badge criteria
  • Tag learners so they can be included or excluded from certain groups

Viewing all tags

Tags can be created and added from various tag fields across the platform. All those tags can be viewed, edited, or deleted in Settings > Tags.

Add recommend learning to a playlist

Learning experiences appear within a playlist on the dashboard as either ‘Assigned’ or ‘Recommended’. Assigned learning experiences are the ones that have been added directly to the playlist. Recommend learning experiences are ones that are linked to a playlist via tagging.

Awarding badges using tags

When you create a badge, you can specify which criteria need to be met in order for the badge to be awarded. Tags can be used as part of these criteria, to specify how many learning experiences or objects tagged with a certain tag need to be completed.

Earlier on in this article, we covered how a learning experience can be tagged. Individual objects within a learning experience can also be tagged by going to Manage Content and opening the Tags menu by the relevant object.

Linking learning experiences and groups using tags

To automatically assign multiple learning experiences to a group, you can add tags to the Link tagged Learning Experiences field in a group's settings. Then any learning experience tagged with that tag will appear in the Linked Learning Experiences menu.
